Is it luck, or is it something else. According to Webster Dictionary – luck is a force that brings good fortune or adversity. What force is propelling you and where is it taking you?
Recently I had the privilege to speak at real estate investors seminar. The seminar brought together real estate investors from Hawaii to New York and everywhere in between. It was an awesome event designed to teach us not to focus on finding investment opportunities right outside our back door, but to use the power of the internet to buy and sell properties all over the country, virtually. As I taught, learned and networked with the participants, I made a very interesting discovery about the people at this event. They didn’t fear a contract not closing and don’t even think about it as they put them together. Do not get me wrong, they are honest and realistic, but what I found more importantly was they also believed 100% in what they were doing and saw no room for failure, only lessons to learn to help them improve their business.
When I returned home, I shared this with my office and we all found it refreshing. Too often when I do presentations I’m hear “Wow, that sounds great, but……..what happens if it doesn’t close”. Sadly, there are too many of us that are too focused on what if it doesn’t work, not this is going to work.
Life is full of lessons and in the real estate business; there are plenty of lessons to learn. I’d like to challenge you to focus on what you want, believe in it 100% and be open to the opportunities that present themselves. You’ll be amazed at what happens when you shift your focus.
