Happy New Year | January 2012

I just love the New Year – people are fresh full of energy, ambition, and hopes of making this year the best one ever. Goals are set, resolutions are made, and the fun begins. I think it’s the most positive time of the year.

However, isn’t it funny how a change in the calendar can make such a dramatic impact on our lives?
One of the biggest challenges is staying committed to reaching our goals and staying focused on the big picture, not the day-to-day stumbling blocks coming our way. There are a dizzying amount of books out there on the market that promises to help us keep our goals, but most find that having an accountability partner or coach is far more productive.

Monthly I lead a mastermind group of 6 entrepreneurs that meet at my home. We spend hours focusing on helping each other, keeping one another on track, and providing support and encouragement along the way. It’s a place where we can brag about our progress and find solutions from our fellow mastermind members. Each of us had our unique breakthroughs from these meetings, and we are seeing great results.

Another way to keep resolutions and goals is to seek out the aid of a coach. Someone who will listen, guide you, and help YOU find solutions. A coach isn’t someone who will do it for you, or give you the answers; it’s someone who will help you create a plan to accomplish your goals and move past challenges. In other words, a coach is a guide along the path you’re currently on and someone who can help you find new roads to travel on.

If you’re like many, you’re optimistic about 2012, ready for the New Year, and making the most of it.
Reaching and exceeding the goals you’ve set as well. To keep your optimism up and your focus on the big picture, not the challenges, you may find having help the easiest and fastest way to reach and exceed the goals you’ve set.

Find a mastermind group or form one. Seek a coach or accountability partner. Life is full of twists and turns, it’s all part of the journey, but if there is a destination you seeking, having someone who can guide you along the way can sure shorten the trip.
