It’s what’s inside that matters most.

“It’s what’s inside that matters most.”We’ve all heard this countless times and likely even said it to our children to soothe them after a rough experience.

For me it was something I think I believed but hadn’t actualized fully. Until this…

In my house, we eat a lot of jalapeños and each one has loads of seeds. Recently I saved some and was going to plant them when I got out to buy a pot. The days went on and no trip to the garden center was had.

One day while adding something to the recycling I spotted a 2-liter bottle. It looked like it would work for a pot so I added holes to the bottom, cut the top off and filled it with potting soil.

Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect of these little seeds. Nevertheless, I watered them, put them under the grow light, and let Mother Nature work her magic.A few weeks later and the little seeds have sprouted it what could likely be called the ugliest pot ever.

Eventually, when they are stronger I’ll put them in the garden and one day soon, we’ll be harvesting jalapeño’s right from the back yard. For now, it is apparent that it really is what’s inside that matters most.
